Part of Roosevelt’s new student leadership group, the Yay Squad has one very important mission — to spread positivity!
Each week, Mr. Littleton’s crew gets to work creating and delivering birthday cards and student awards across the school. Two delivery teams set out every Tuesday morning from Mrs. Gietzen’s room, lanyards on and folders in hand, ready to celebrate their peers.
Teachers submit Rocket Math, Progress Learning, and STEMtastic Awards, and even the specials teachers are joining in on the fun. Last week’s most creative recognition? A “Bravery Award” for Mrs. Hayes — who heroically helped Mrs. Young when she thought there was a mouse under her desk!
There’s been an incredible buzz of excitement each Tuesday as classes cheer on their friends. The Yay! Squad is proving that celebrating others is one of the best ways to lead!
