plane with students

Pryor High School Aviation III students, under the direction of Dr. Jenny Peters, are closing in on the completion of their RV-12 Sport aircraft build. Known as the Tango Flight Project, this multiyear project has given Tigers the chance to apply advanced skills while working on a full-scale aircraft.

As part of the AP Mechanic Pathway, students have moved beyond classroom instruction into hands-on, real-world problem solving. The build requires an integrated approach that combines aerospace, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and design engineering concepts.

A key part of the program’s success has been the invaluable guidance of adult mentors from the community, who share their knowledge and expertise with students throughout the build process. Their involvement helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, giving Tigers an even stronger foundation for future careers.

The Tango Flight initiative stands as a model of applied learning, preparing Pryor Tigers for high-demand careers while showcasing what’s possible when education, community, and innovation take flight.
